overviewWHO AM I?I am a student at the University of California, Berkeley studying pure mathematics. (For those who are wondering, that is not as opposed to “impure” mathematics. Give your brain a delicious snack and see how far you get in that article before you fall asleep. Email me the number of paragraphs.) But is that really how I describe myself? I am a son, a brother, a boyfriend, a roommate, a classmate, a student and a photographer (loosely speaking). But is that really really how I describe myself? I like cooking, photography, math, webcomics, good hip-hop and disco, Lightroom 2 (well, and Lightroom 3 now) and probably cheese (time to get specific, guys: gorgonzola). But is that really really really how I describe myself? Well, I guess. I’m that guy that took the pictures of everyone in high school? You know that guy. The one that had his camera all the time and likely has about 27 pictures of you with a lazy eye stored in the depths of his file structure. Yeah, that’s definitely me, actually. Anyway, so that’s how photography started. A Panasonic Lumix point-and-shoot. After a certain point, I thought that swinging the camera by its attached lanyard would be a good idea. Then the unthinkable happened: I let go of the lanyard. As time passed and I got increasing dissatisfied with the broken camera, I also started borrowing Mom’s (then Dad’s) Nikon D40. I finally purchased the D40 off my parents in the summer of 2008. Since then, I have moved on to a D90 and found a hobby that I rather enjoy. I gotta say I'm a big fan of strobist gear. WHAT AM I DOING HERE?As an undergraduate at Cal, I have worked with the Student Learning Center for over 3 years. The SLC is an organization within the campus dedicated to supplementary learning including but not limited to drop-in tutoring, adjunct courses and formal study groups. I have also been brainwashed, no uh, worked with the Cal Student Orientation program, lovingly known as CalSO. I gave them a piece of me (specifically, a summer of my life I’ll never get back) and regret nothing. Maybe I’ll graduate. My plans are in such limbo right now, I might have a nervous breakdown. In the mean time, you’ll either find me studying, laughing at someone vicariously through the computer (happens more often than you might think), or you know in Italy somewhere. That or you just won’t find me. HEY I THOUGHT I’D LET YOU KNOW THAT _____.Great, thanks. HAS ANYONE EVER TOLD YOU THE TITLES OF THE CATEGORIES KIND OF MAKE YOU SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE AMNESIA?HEY, I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE WANTED TO REFER ME TO A MORE PROFESSIONAL WEBSITE.Shoot. Sorry for making you read that. If you're looking for a more professional about me section, then you can go here. Hopefully I didn't make any bad first impressions. |
